About the Role

As the Senior Delivery Lead, you will oversee software development, lead the delivery team, and facilitate interactions between the development team and stakeholders to launch the new Petcare digital platform. You will support and deputize for the Senior Delivery Manager, coordinate cross-squad releases through testing and into production in a controlled manner, mentor Delivery Leads, and manage fast-paced iterative change within a DevOps environment for high-transaction retail applications.

To lead one of the software development teams including:

  • Agile Process Facilitation – facilitating the various ceremonies and processes required for a successful SCRUM team.
  • Facilitating the engagements between the software development function and stakeholders across the business and externally.
  • Facilitation of the deployment of software into test and production environments with appropriate controls.
  • Working with the team to ensure that reporting metrics such as velocity and burndowns for the team are produced and transparent.
  • Working with the Product Owner to manage the features backlog and plan the future roadmaps.
  • Constantly and consistently works to remove impediments and issues which are slowing down the development team.

About Your Experience

  • Agile Practices: Advocate for Agile methodologies with a proven background in mentoring squads to follow best practices.
  • Software Delivery: Strong track record in software delivery, ideally in an enterprise-level environment.

This is a ‘hybrid’ role, so involves working two days per week from our Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire).

Key Experience Required

  • Team Management: Proven experience in managing software development teams.
  • Agile Lifecycles: In-depth knowledge of SCRUM and other Agile methodologies such as Kanban.
  • Software Development: Experience working in an Agile environment to deliver software products.
  • Communication: Skilled in presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences in various settings.
  • Automated Testing: Experience with automated testing frameworks and techniques like TDD.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and establishing good development practices.

Desirable Experience

  • Organisational Transition: Experience working within an organization transitioning from a “buy first” to a “build first” mentality.
  • Greenfield Development: Experience in Greenfield product development.
  • Micro-Services Architecture: Understanding of services/micro-services-based architectures and their advantages and disadvantages.
