About your role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our rapidly expanding UX team in the role of a UI Designer. As the UI Designer, you will form part of a decentralised UI team, working closely within an agile Product Squad to represent UI Design best practice and principles. You will play a pivotal role in creating visually engaging and intuitive designs for our digital products. We make sure to put our consumers and their pets first, so you will always have accessibility and equitability at the forefront of your mind, producing seamless friction free journeys that drive impactful commercial and customer experience results.

Working closely alongside a Product Owner, you will champion and take accountability for ensuring that all proposed journeys/products within your Product Squad are designed to a high standard of quality that aligns with our brand principles and our PawPrint design system.

Your role will form part of a wider network of like-minded colleagues in various disciplines, using a set of common processes and joined up agile ways of working, following a test-and-learn evidence driven ethos to create easy to use intuitive user experiences that drive growth for our digital teams. Communicating with stakeholders, developers and other interested parties, explaining design decisions with clarity will also play a central part in your role.

Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week at our Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire)

 

About your experience

The ideal candidate will possess a strong working background in UI Design, with a proven track record of delivering results in this space. You will also have a deep understanding of UI best practice and principles, and be able to demonstrate this in your work. You will have interest and enthusiasm for the wider design industry, keeping yourself updated on the latest trends and technologies.

Wireframing, Mid-fi, Hi-fi designs and Prototyping across multiple viewports should be familiar territory, with a clear understanding and appreciation of design standards across various screen formats. Prior experience of working within and helping to evolve a UI Design System is key.

A high level of practical knowledge in the following software/skills:

  • Figma
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator primarily)
  • Miro
  • Microsoft 365 Suite

Additional experience in the following would also be beneficial:

  • ProtoPie
  • ADO
  • HTML
  • CSS

A few things to note 

  • This is a hybrid role; we require you to be in our Handforth office at least 2 days a week.
  • We do not need agency support; we do all our recruitment in house.
  • We can't offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role.
